Everyday we experience different feelings and emotions but are they the same? Although very similar ~ Emotions tend to refer to that which is not physical, while feelings tend to be physical. Understanding the difference between the two can change unhealthy behaviours into happiness and peace in your life. #feelings #emotions
Your feelings are meant to be felt that is why they are called "feelings" They are not meant to be, ignored, pushed away or run away from.
A feeling is a mental picture of what is going on in your body when you have an emotion and is a by-product of your brain recognizing and assigning a meaning to that emotions no matter what. The stronger they are the more we need to allow them to flow through our body without pushing them away.
An emotion originally helped us survive by producing quick reactions to everything from being happy to miserable and everything in-between. Emotions are both physical and instinctual and they precede feelings. Because they are physical they are expressed in the way you behave both mentally and emotionally.
Being able to recognize your feelings and emotions when it comes to anxiety is important. When you become anxious it's normally because something has triggered your thoughts and you have an emotional fear response. While these emotions are often short lived the feelings they have triggered may stay and manifest over time. They then spiral subconsciously, which create bigger emotions. Your anxiety becomes a never ending circle of negativity both in those feelings and emotions.
By being aware of what causes your anxiety you can be aware of both your emotions and feelings. You can learn different techniques to respond rather then react to situations. By letting the anxiety build up you will react emotionally and let it take over your life, instead try and learn to respond by simply taking hold of your anxiety as soon as you can feel those emotions building up. You need to understand how to process the emotions and feelings before you act on them.
