My goodness, there are days you only have to look at Chelsea, and you can instantly tell the kind of day she has had.
As a parent seeing our child smiling, laughing and enjoying life is the best thing, but for us, these moments, unfortunately, are less frequent. On a whole, Chelsea's complexion is more “GREY” I don’t necessarily mean literally, but you can see that she is having a hard time. Her eyes are red because she has been crying, she has dark circles under them because she has not been sleeping and her entire body is slouched. It’s heartbreaking as a parent to see your child like this.
Then there are days that she looks fabulous, she has had a shower, her hair and make-up are done, and WOW she looks like a new girl – NOT that she has to wear make-up to look great, but it just shows that she is feeling more positive and relaxed to take the time on herself.
However, don’t let this look fool you; although she has made a HUGE effort, these are the days that she has had to work EVEN harder to get through. She has to force herself to smile and be happy and create a persona around her for those to see and think that today is a good day. Having to put on this act all day takes its toll on her; the simplest thing can cause her to crack. By the end of the day, you just have to see how tired she looks to know how hard she has had to work to get through the day.
So when you see someone who may look like they have been dragged through a hedge backwards, because putting a brush through their hair may just be too much for them that day, and their entire body language is participating in the slouched look, try and understand that this may be because the person you are looking at is having a difficult time but that they at least have managed to get out of bed that day......and that has taken a HUGE effort xx
