PLEASE skill is an Acronym that was taught to us through DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) As much as we have learnt it, I have changed one of the meanings to suit our own personal issues (**see below)


This skill reminds us about the importance of taking care of our bodies. It's hard to be emotionally healthy when you are not physically healthy. By using the PLEASE skill and mastering it, we can be reminded of what we can do regularly to keep ourselves healthy and stable.

Try and plan to do something everyday that gives you a sense of achievement.


**In DBT - A stands for Avoiding mood-altering substances (alcohol or drugs) and as much as that is extremely important to remember and to work on, for our family, this has not been a significant concern, so we have altered it to suit our own issues.
